Compostion of the week: Steven Bryant

As i sit here and listen to this piece by steven bryant, i am taking back by what i am hearing. I just sit here and close my eyes as the music fills my head with all of its wonders. This piece is just flat out amazing, and presents a new level of musicality with the electronics mixed in just enough to bring this piece to the next level.

I love pieces that take music out side of the realm of just a melody and bass line, and bring them into a whole expiernce that can be felt and not just heard.

My walk in music

Hello my name is Phillip,

I started this blog site to allow for me to express my walks in music. How it effects me ever day, what role music plays in society, what i do with music, what knowledge i have in music. but most of all to share with the blog community my general role in the music community.

To start of with i would first like to say that i am a proud Euphonium player. For all of you who do not know what that is, it is a member of the brass family and is a low brass instrument. I play on an Miraphone euphonium and i enjoy playing it almost every day with the UNCG school of music.

As well I also am an avid member and fan of drum corps. I currently and have since 2008 marched with carolina gold drum and bugle corps.

The purpose of this blog was to promote discussions with in the music community and the brass community, and to build support for more open discussions with in such.

the reason for my blog is for me to express my views on drum corps as well as to gain the ideals of other drum corps fans.
first i wanted to explain that i my self have marched in the drum corps circut, and currently march with carolina gold.
